Role Overview

The Compliance Analyst will manage Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), and Counter Proliferation Financing (CPF) compliance. This includes executing the company's AML/CTF/CPF programs, investigating suspicious activities linked to money laundering, terrorism financing, or proliferation financing, and identifying vulnerabilities that may lead to losses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish robust AML/CTF/CPF controls to cover all areas of risk.
  • Periodically evaluate the effectiveness of AML/CTF/CPF controls including sanction and Politically Exposed Person screening, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, adverse media reviews, and investigative order management.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to spot patterns, trends, and irregularities in transactions and customer relationships.
  • Support company-wide AML/CTF/CPF initiatives via risk awareness training for staff, focusing on suspicious transaction identification and reporting.
  • Stay current with AML/CTF/CPF regulations, sanctions, terrorist financing developments, policies, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain collaborative relations with internal teams to address compliance matters proactively.
  • Confirm that AML/CTF/CPF procedures adhere to regulatory mandates.
  • Identify and address control gaps, monitor implementation of mitigation measures, and oversee closure of compliance review actions, regulatory and audit findings.
  • Generate periodic comprehensive reports for the Money Laundering Reporting Officer on the AML/CTF/CPF program status.
  • Report control weaknesses promptly, propose improvements, and ensure follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Exercise authority in closing and escalating alerts, reporting suspicious transactions, managing documentation, communicating awareness on trends, directing remediation efforts, supporting training needs, monitoring compliance activities, and reviewing high-risk accounts.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Finance, or related discipline or equivalent.
  • ACAMS certification or a comparable industry-recognized AML qualification.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in banking or financial services within AML, compliance, fraud, or risk management roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of money laundering methods, financial crime trends, and pertinent regulations.
  • A strong grasp of risk management, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
  • Good understanding of payment products, transactional processes, and financial institution operations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning capabilities, able to interpret complex data to identify irregularities.
  • Capable of multitasking in complex environments with strict deadlines to fulfill assignments.
  • Results-oriented team player with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Adaptable and skilled in using various AML tools and systems for daily operations.
