Introduction
Christchurch City Council invites passionate individuals to apply for the role of Homelessness Advisor, focused on enhancing community well-being and outcomes for people experiencing homelessness in Ōtautahi Christchurch. This role offers a chance to contribute to meaningful strategies and foster collaboration across communities and organizations.
Role Overview
As the primary liaison for homelessness initiatives within the council, you will coordinate efforts across various departments and partner with Rūnanga, community groups, government bodies, service providers, and individuals with lived experience. Your responsibilities encompass delivering strategic and operational guidance, leading complex projects, identifying emerging challenges and prospects, advocating for necessary resources, and shaping a cohesive citywide approach to homelessness prevention and reduction.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have expertise in navigating intricate organizations and forging productive relationships among diverse stakeholders. You should have a background in community development, social services, strategy, or cross-agency collaboration, along with the aptitude to analyze data and insights to support informed decision-making. Excellent communication skills, empathy, sound judgment, and a commitment to equitable outcomes for the homeless are essential.
