Role Overview

This full-time position involves managing day-to-day trading operations of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, agricultural products, and biofuels. Key duties include pricing, negotiating, and executing purchase and sales agreements, monitoring international commodity markets to spot trading openings, and managing trade risks to maintain profitable portfolios. The role requires building and nurturing relationships with suppliers, buyers, and logistics providers, coordinating shipments, and ensuring adherence to regulations and company guidelines. Collaboration with finance and operations is essential to maximize profit margins, forecast market demands, and drive business growth strategically.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in trading and commodity market dynamics, specifically in metals or related industries.
• Possession of a robust, pre-existing client portfolio is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of finance and hedging techniques to mitigate pricing risks and enhance trading tactics.
• Proven abilities in sales and negotiation to establish and sustain supplier and buyer relationships.
• Advanced analytical skills to assess market data, pricing movements, and contractual terms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proficiency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
• Preferred presence in Singapore for on-site work, yet flexible for remote operations with necessary travel and adaptable to high-paced international settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields; industry certifications are beneficial.
• Prior experience specifically within scrap metal trading, commodities, or industrial raw material sectors is essential.
