About the Role
FyneHand is recruiting a Central Trader specializing in OTC derivatives based in Dubai for a prominent global agribusiness operating in over 30 countries. This pivotal position involves structuring, pricing, trading, and hedging complex OTC derivative products with a focus on exotic and customized solutions within the commodities sector. The role demands independent risk-taking and structuring skills while collaborating closely with global sales, risk, and post-trade teams to deliver client-focused solutions aligned with firm risk and capital standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Structure, price, and hedge a variety of OTC derivatives, including swaps, vanilla look-alike products, exotic options (barriers, digitals, path-dependent, bespoke payoffs), and correlation/spread structures such as calendar, inter-commodity, cross-commodity, and commodity/FX.
- Originate and implement innovative trading structures in line with the firm’s risk appetite and capital framework.
- Make informed risk-taking decisions and manage portfolios with a balance between profitability and downside protection.
- Monitor global market conditions, volatility, and macroeconomic factors to continuously optimize risk-adjusted returns.
- Maintain and expand expertise across multiple commodities, concentrating on agricultural products, and support cross-asset initiatives.
- Work closely with global sales teams to translate client needs into executable, well-hedged structures, and provide insights on market conditions and pricing.
- Serve as the trading liaison with post-trade client services to ensure smooth operation, resolution of issues, and high client satisfaction.
- Contribute to strategic projects involving risk, operations, legal, technology, and external advisors to support organizational changes.
- Ensure accurate execution, maintain strong documentation, and observe internal controls and regulatory standards.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks, including Greeks, stress tests, scenario analysis, and correlation risks; escalate concerns when necessary.
- Develop and enhance pricing models, risk and P&L analytics, automation, and transparency within the trading environment, collaborating with quantitative and technology teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 6 years of experience in OTC derivative structuring and trading with deep exposure to exotic and bespoke products.
- Proven expertise in risk taking, portfolio management, and complex derivative structuring in financial or commodity markets.
- Experience across multiple commodity platforms, notably agricultural commodities, is highly advantageous.
- Client-facing or sales-related trading experience is desirable.
- Advanced quantitative, analytical, and structuring skills with strong commercial judgment and risk discipline.
- Ability to work independently, influence business outcomes without direct authority, and maintain high communication quality across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong ownership of projects and strategic initiatives.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, CQF, or equivalents are highly valued.
