Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Client Services Accountant to oversee aviation and structured finance client portfolios consisting of approximately 30-50 Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) each. This position involves acting as the primary liaison for corporate services within the client portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of accounting services, and coordinating with internal and external teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all client deliverables in accordance with corporate service agreements, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Serve as the central contact point for operational issue resolution and act as the internal technical expert for the client portfolio.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of accounting work completed by offshore teams, offering technical advice and guidance as needed.
- Prepare and review periodic management accounts and financial statements, ensuring compliance with required standards.
- Draft accounting memorandums on key topics such as going concern, impairment, and lease classification.
- Review transaction documents to verify compliance with stipulated requirements and extract relevant data for financial reports.
- Coordinate audit planning and manage audit queries with auditors to guarantee timely completion within given deadlines.
- Prepare periodic tax and compliance filings including VAT returns, FATCA, and CRS reports.
- Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure corporation tax filings and payments meet statutory requirements.
- Ensure clients maintain compliance with regulatory obligations such as EMIR and Central Bank of Ireland reporting.
- Attend and present at board meetings, draft related board papers and minutes.
- Oversee onboarding of new client entities from a client services standpoint.
- Work with Business Development teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities and service expansion.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to team members as necessary.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects including evaluating the impact of new legislation on client SPVs.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Apex Group's services and corporate values.
- Support team management and mentor colleagues to foster professional growth.
Qualifications & Skills
- Possess 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Qualified accountant with expert knowledge of IFRS and Irish GAAP.
- Capable of working independently, managing full ownership of client portfolios.
- Comfortable operating effectively within a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic work setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent relationship management abilities.
- Familiarity with corporate governance, local laws, and regulatory requirements is highly advantageous.
