Yovich Advisory Limited is a boutique accounting and business advisory firm located in central Whangārei, Northland, New Zealand. The practice serves local businesses, trusts, and companies with a focus on combining solid accounting and tax knowledge with commercially minded advice to foster long-term client relationships and growth.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Client Partner who embodies a hands-on approach, strong client engagement skills, and ownership of a client portfolio. This role requires a proactive professional capable of managing tasks efficiently, maintaining clear client communication, and contributing to the firm's ongoing growth and operational efficiency. The position is full-time and based in our Whangārei office with semi-flexible weekday hours.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture strong client relationships through timely, professional, and clear communication.
  • Prepare and review annual financial statements, tax returns, GST, FBT, and other compliance documentation.
  • Manage workflows, budgets, and time tracking to ensure timely project delivery and minimize write-offs.
  • Identify and pursue advisory opportunities by engaging clients in practical, commercially insightful discussions.
  • Develop management reports, cashflow forecasts, and other advisory materials adhering to agreed scope and quality standards.
  • Collaborate efficiently with both internal colleagues and external outsourced resources.
  • Support team development by sharing knowledge, improving templates and systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum three years' experience in public practice accounting roles such as Senior Accountant, Client Manager, or Assistant Manager.
  • Strong technical expertise in annual accounts preparation, tax compliance, and management reporting.
  • Excellent client communication and relationship management capabilities.
  • High degree of accuracy and commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on ownership, solutions, and follow-through.
  • Ability to spot advisory opportunities and effectively communicate these within the team.
  • Preferably holds or is working towards a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification; eligibility or interest in Certified Practising Accountant (CPP) is advantageous but not mandatory.
