About the Role
PlaceMakers is seeking a dependable and energetic Class 2 Driver to join our Gisborne branch. This position embodies our company’s ethos, 'Know How. Can Do.', by delivering building materials securely and punctually throughout the Gisborne region, while supporting yard and drive-thru operations to ensure smooth branch functioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Transporting building products safely and punctually across the Gisborne area.
- Loading, unloading, and securely fastening products for delivery.
- Delivering excellent customer service at every opportunity.
- Assisting customers in the Yard and Drive Thru areas.
- Picking orders, restocking products, and aiding stock movements.
- Utilizing yard systems to handle orders and monitor inventory.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe yard environment.
- Contributing to the branch's overall safety culture and supporting team members.
Schedule and Contract Details
This is a permanent, full-time position consisting of 45 hours per week. Workdays include Monday to Friday with scheduled Saturdays at the Gisborne branch.
Required Skills and Experience
- Possession of a valid, full, and clean New Zealand Class 2 Driver Licence.
- Comfortable maneuvering in limited spaces, complex driveways, and active construction sites.
- Strong interpersonal skills, calm demeanor, and a customer-centric approach.
- Physically fit to perform routine manual handling and heavy lifting tasks.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to health and safety, plus a positive and dependable attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Forklift Licence with F Endorsement.
- Class 4 Licence.
- Experience operating Hiab equipment and/or completion of related NZQA Hiab Unit Standards.
Training and support to obtain these additional qualifications will be provided for the right candidate.
