Job Overview
The Checker position requires actively monitoring the store exit area to ensure secure and friendly customer service. This role involves greeting guests warmly as they leave, confirming purchase receipts, and managing security concerns to prevent merchandise theft.
Key Duties
- Offer a courteous and welcoming farewell to all customers exiting the store.
- Verify that customers have valid purchase receipts; if absent, advise payment for unpaid items and promptly inform management.
- Alert management and Loss Prevention staff about incidents such as vandalism, robbery, fires, shoplifting, pickpocketing, soliciting, loitering, and any violent acts.
- Conduct bag inspections on all employees leaving through the front entrance to deter theft.
- Maintain constant visibility near the store’s exit doors to monitor activity.
- Support efforts to safeguard company assets against theft.
- Collaborate with management to minimize and prevent inventory shrinkage.
- Observe and report any suspicious individuals or actions to supervisors.
- Provide witness testimony if involved in detaining internal or external theft suspects.

- Ability to stand and walk throughout the sales floor for the entire work shift.
