Cashier

Position Overview

Cashiers serve an essential function by delivering prompt, courteous, precise, and secure service to customers. They handle checkout and return transactions and oversee the self-checkout section. They actively acquire product and project knowledge to inform customers and spot sales opportunities. Adherence to all store policies and procedures is critical to reduce losses.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer purchases and return transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor and manage the self-checkout area to ensure smooth operations.
• Continuously enhance product and project knowledge to assist customers effectively and identify opportunities to sell.
• Follow all company policies to minimize shrinkage.
• As a Head Cashier, assign cashier positions, assist with price checks, approve transactions and markdowns across various points of sale including main registers, self-checkout, returns, Pro Desk, special services, and tool rental.
• Provide first-level customer issue resolution and support.
• Assist in supervising, coaching, and training front-end staff by participating in onboarding and development of new cashiers.

Qualifications

• Preferred candidates have at least one year of cashier experience.
