Job Overview
The Cashier position plays a vital role in delivering prompt, courteous, accurate, and secure customer service. Responsible for handling checkout and return transactions efficiently, as well as overseeing the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operation.
Main Duties
- Process purchases and returns accurately and quickly to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage the Self-Checkout stations to assist customers and resolve issues.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge about products and projects to provide customers with helpful information and identify potential sales opportunities.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures aimed at reducing theft and minimizing losses.
Head Cashier Responsibilities
Those in the Head Cashier role support Cashiers by coordinating register assignments, expediting price checks, and approving various Point of Sale transactions including markdowns and special service sales across multiple departments such as the main registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
The Head Cashier also serves as the first escalation point for customer concerns and plays an active role in mentoring and training Front End Associates, including new Cashiers, by leveraging available coaching resources.
Preferred Experience
A minimum of one year of experience working as a Cashier is preferred for the Head Cashier position.
