Job description

Job Overview

The role involves collecting detailed information related to plant equipment, piping, and platforms and creating precise drawings and diagrams using 3D CAD and 2D drafting software. These drawings support effective communication regarding plant design, bills of materials, and facilitate management of change processes within the plant.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections and collaborate with relevant departments to obtain as-built data on piping, instrumentation, equipment, and structural supports.
  • Create and update various technical drawings including plot plans, key plans, general arrangement drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, pipe support drawings, and any other necessary plant-related diagrams.
  • Develop equipment, piping structural supports, and platform drawings with material take-offs and bills of materials, ensuring adherence to company drafting standards.
  • Perform site surveys to prepare accurate as-built drawings reflecting actual field measurements.
  • Maintain and revise plant drawings as part of the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Conduct rigorous quality reviews of internally and externally prepared drawings.
  • Verify alignment between engineering drawings and plant databases (tags, equipment IDs, line references), escalating discrepancies when necessary.
  • Manage integration of vendor drawings into plant documentation, ensuring conformity with existing design and standards.
  • Identify outdated or missing drawings prior to Turnaround execution and ensure drawing readiness.
  • Support synchronization between engineering drawings and asset management systems.
  • Ensure field redlines are accurately captured, tracked, and incorporated into final drawings with full traceability.
  • Monitor drawing statuses (draft, review, approved, as-built) and report on pending updates.
  • Maintain control over native drawing files and coordinate uploading of relevant data into the electronic content management system to guarantee information availability to authorized personnel.

Continuous Improvement and Compliance

  • Participate in identifying opportunities to enhance systems, processes, and work practices to boost productivity and efficiency.
  • Adhere strictly to all relevant project section policies, procedures, and instructions to maintain controlled and consistent work execution.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, quality, and environmental regulations and protocols within the projects section.

Reporting and Knowledge Sharing

  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely reports as per departmental guidelines and standards.
  • Document and share lessons learned related to drawing revisions, errors, and field challenges.

Qatarization

Expatriate employees are expected to contribute towards developing Qatari nationals in alignment with company Qatarization goals.

Qualifications and Experience
