Job description
Company Overview
Notion is an innovative collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents synergize their efforts. It integrates knowledge management, projects, meetings, and AI tools seamlessly to make work quicker, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of users from individuals to large corporations rely on Notion to power their work.
Notion's employees, called Notinos, are pioneers in shaping the future of work by focusing on craftsmanship and building sustainable solutions that emphasize the human element in work. Their mission transcends mere feature shipping, aiming to revolutionize how people collaborate using AI, automating tedious tasks and enhancing productivity.
Role Summary
The Business Development Representative (BDR) position is central to Notion's new go-to-market approach focusing on workflow-first, builder-focused strategies. As a BDR, you will identify and engage accounts primed for innovative work solutions, partnering with Solutions Consultants (SCs) to generate relevant conversations and qualified leads, focusing on opportunities that promote building workflow solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a qualified pipeline emphasizing workflow-oriented opportunities by targeting high-potential companies within your assigned portfolio, coordinating closely with sellers for strategic outreach.
- Execute multi-channel outbound campaigns including email, phone, social platforms, and events to create urgency and secure meetings with appropriate decision-makers.
- Conduct initial qualification to ensure leads meet criteria indicating readiness to build solutions, not just general interest, validating ideal customer profile (ICP), intent, and workflow compatibility before handing off to SCs.
- Prepare comprehensive handoff packages in Salesforce containing ICP indicators, pain points, workflow hypotheses, and stakeholder details to facilitate seamless transition to sales.
- Utilize GTM system tools and intent data to refine targeting, prioritize accounts based on insights, and enhance the efficiency and quality of outbound efforts.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in English with strong communication skills for both written and verbal outreach tailored to various personas.
- Demonstrated success in generating outbound pipeline through cold prospecting via phone, email, and social media channels.
- Keen qualification abilities to quickly assess fit, urgency, and prepare SCs for productive initial conversations.
- Interest in AI and machine learning, including familiarity with API-first or consumption-based business models.
- High-activity orientation with disciplined prioritization driven by data signals rather than volume alone.
- Curiosity towards AI tools with willingness to integrate these technologies to enhance productivity and achieve superior outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating Salesforce, Outreach, or comparable go-to-market technologies.
- Knowledge or prior usage of Notion products or experience in selling productivity, collaboration, or workflow software.
- Background in fast-paced, metric-focused sales environments with clear outbound pipeline goals.
Additional Information - Equal Opportunity & Accommodations
Notion embraces diversity and inclusive hiring practices. Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every outlined qualification. The employer does not discriminate based on legally protected characteristics and provides reasonable accommodations throughout the application process. Qualified applicants with criminal histories are considered in compliance with relevant laws. Requests for accommodations during hiring should be communicated to the recruiter.
Privacy Agreement
Applicants acknowledge that Notion and its affiliates will process their personal information according to the company's Global Recruiting Privacy Policy upon submitting an application.
Company Culture on AI
While in-depth AI expertise is not required for all roles, all employees are expected to be intellectually curious, embracing AI as a collaborative partner to enhance their work rather than viewing it as a novelty.
