This role focuses on operating, maintaining, repairing, and optimizing plant machinery and associated systems in a manufacturing environment to ensure continuous availability and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to safety, health, and environmental regulations and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness within the workplace.
- Identify and locate required plant, equipment, spare parts, and documentation efficiently.
- Plan and prepare maintenance and repair tasks effectively.
- Execute repair and maintenance work on plant and control equipment.
- Continuously seek improvements to optimize plant performance and processes.
- Engage and communicate effectively within the team.
- Contribute to both personal and team learning and growth.
- Implement 5S principles and practices in the workspace.
- Operate process controls following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in and mentor autonomous operations initiatives.
- Support quality assurance efforts directly at the source.
- Enhance individual skills and adaptability.
- Use loss, waste, and short interval controls to identify operational issues.
- Apply problem-solving methodologies to address and resolve issues as they arise.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 1-2 years of experience as a Mechanical or Electrical Artisan.
- Completed Grade 12 education.
- Hold a Diploma or Certificate in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Certified membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
- Undergone 2-3 months of on-the-job training.
- Hands-on experience in instrumentation equipment maintenance.
- Prior experience within a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is preferred.
