About Outcomes Connect Australia

Outcomes Connect Australia (OCA) strives to create an environment where employees feel connected, supported, and motivated to excel. Since its establishment in 2018, OCA has fostered the growth of Behaviour Support Practitioners by enhancing their confidence, clinical capabilities, and adherence to best practices. Their model integrates local service delivery with national systems to ensure consistent, safe, and clinically excellent practices supported by robust governance.

If you seek a workplace that values your input, prioritizes professional growth, and cares about your wellbeing, OCA invites you to apply.

Role Overview

As a qualified Behaviour Support Practitioner registered with the NDIS Commission, you will play a vital role improving the lives of individuals with disabilities by supporting them and their support networks. The position focuses on enhancing life quality, reducing challenging behaviors, and advocating for the rights of people with disabilities. You will join a multidisciplinary team including practitioners, team leaders, and clinical advisors, employing evidence-based strategies while advancing your own expertise.

Applicants should live in Mullumbimby or within a 30-minute drive radius. Participation in the School of Positive Behaviour Support, in partnership with MedHealth Academy and the University of Melbourne, is a valuable benefit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with NDIS participants, families, and carers to assess needs and develop person-centered plans.
  • Set meaningful goals and implement actionable strategies using The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework, emphasizing the elimination of restrictive practices at home and in the community.
  • Design, execute, and appraise evidence-based behaviour support plans within complex settings.
  • Ensure all support plans reflect individuals’ passions, strengths, and objectives.
  • Strengthen the skills and capacity of family members, carers, and friends supporting the participants.

Support and Development at OCA

  • Receive weekly one-on-one clinical supervision from an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner alongside group supervisions.
  • Benefit from ongoing guidance by a seasoned clinical leadership team.
  • Engage with a national onboarding and continuous learning program focused on positive behaviour support principles and participant advocacy.
  • Access biweekly educational sessions led by Advanced and Specialist practitioners and a comprehensive library of over 100 resources.

Career Advancement

  • Create a personalized Continuing Professional Development plan and Supervision Agreement to progress from Core or Proficient to Advanced practitioner levels.
  • Receive mentoring to specialize, lead, and manage cases according to your professional goals.
  • Opportunity to apply for internal leadership roles, short-term secondments, and adjunct positions within the team.

Workplace Culture and Benefits

  • Join a values-driven team that celebrates accomplishments and provides support through challenges.
  • Enjoy flexible scheduling and a caseload balanced to protect your energy and personal time.
  • Competitive salary package including superannuation, performance incentives, and salary packaging options.
  • A $600 annual Health and Wellbeing subsidy to support your wellness.

Candidate Profile

  • Must hold current NDIS Commission suitability as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with experience supporting individuals through a registered provider.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within diverse teams.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and impeccable writing ability.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

  • Preferably hold a degree relevant to supporting people with behaviours of concern.
