Role Overview

The Barista’s primary responsibility is to support efficient and smooth bar operations while ensuring the outlet meets hotel standards and achieves profitability. This role requires delivering exceptional guest service and maintaining high-quality beverage preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the brand promise through outstanding guest service consistently.
• Provide excellent support to internal customers from other departments.
• Handle guest and internal inquiries or complaints courteously and efficiently, ensuring satisfactory resolution.
• Maintain positive relationships with guests and colleagues fostering good interactions.
• Implement minimum brand standards and respond to consumer audit results with appropriate changes.
• Collaborate flexibly and supportively with other outlet associates and departments to enhance hotel success and guest satisfaction.
• Present menus and drinks list, respond to queries, and offer recommendations on food, beverages, and service.
• Take and serve food and beverage orders following established procedures without unnecessary delay.
• Operate the Micros Computer System proficiently.
• Maintain all food, beverage items, equipment, and facilities according to departmental requirements.
• Preserve beverage par stocks and prepare "Mis-en-place" as required.
• Clean and reset tables or counters, decorate outlets for special events.
• Ensure beverage stock is stored correctly at appropriate temperatures; glasses are polished properly.
• Assist with bar inventory stock-taking, maintain accurate records, and request replenishment as needed.
• Perform cashier duties including verifying cash and credit card payments following financial policies.
• Support Hyatt’s People Philosophy by exemplifying company values and culture.
• Adhere to all hotel safety, hygiene, fire, and health regulations.
• Stay updated on food & beverage trends and attend training sessions.
• Maintain professional appearance and punctuality with correct uniform and name badge.
• Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years food, beverage, or café experience within the past two years.
• Hands-on experience operating commercial espresso machines, grinders, and café equipment.
• Certified in SMARTSERVE and Food Handling.
• At least one year of experience serving in a fast-paced bar or restaurant.
• Basic proficiency in Arabic language preferred.

Work Environment

The role is based in food and beverage outlets, including both indoor and outdoor settings.
