About the Role
Join Leidos Australia as a Backup and Data Protection Engineer within our Digital Modernisation Division. This role involves managing complex, multi-vendor technology systems with a focus on data protection, cyber resilience, and ensuring business continuity through robust backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and continually enhance enterprise backup and data protection services to ensure system resiliency and reliable recovery options.
- Oversee and refine Commvault backup systems, managing the setup, ongoing monitoring, and troubleshooting of backup and restore operations.
- Develop and implement scalable backup strategies addressing both cloud and on-premise infrastructures aligned with defined recovery objectives (RPO/RTO).
- Enhance cyber resilience by securing backups, controlling access, monitoring incidents, and responding effectively to backup-related security events.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to maintain governance, ensure compliance, document processes, and drive ongoing service improvements.
Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise administering Commvault backup solutions within enterprise-scale environments.
- Deep understanding of backup methodologies, disaster recovery principles, and cyber resilience features such as immutable storage and ransomware defenses.
- Technical knowledge spanning hybrid environments including on-premises, virtualized infrastructures, and cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
- Proficient with automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, REST APIs, or infrastructure-as-code to optimize processes and reduce manual workload.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset, capable of resolving complex technical issues and engaging effectively with diverse teams.
