Role Overview
Joining as one of the initial Backend Engineers in London, you will architect and scale Python (FastAPI) backend systems powering AI-based products. You will take ownership of full production service lifecycles, including designing schemas and deploying on AWS. The position offers meaningful influence over system architecture and the growth of an international engineering hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, architect, and maintain robust backend services using Python and FastAPI aligned with AI-enabled product needs.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases and utilize Redis for caching and message brokering within high-traffic environments.
- Oversee deployment pipelines on AWS leveraging Docker and Kubernetes to ensure scalable, monitored, and dependable services.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of four years' experience creating and scaling production-grade APIs with Python frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
- Strong SQL knowledge encompassing advanced schema design, performance tuning, and maintaining data integrity for large applications.
- Proven end-to-end ownership of backend services, from defining technical specs through deployment and ongoing maintenance in production.
