About the Team

Join the Audio Innovation team within TikTok's Multimedia Lab, a groundbreaking research group advancing immersive audio technology and standards. This team supports various TikTok platforms including short videos, live streaming, content creation tools, and extended reality like VR and AR experiences. They actively collaborate with international audio Standards Developing Organizations such as MPEG, 3GPP, and IETF, and embrace cutting-edge research using Machine Learning and Neural Network models, especially generative models, to innovate immersive audio solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop next-generation immersive intelligent audio understanding and processing algorithms designed in-house.
• Implement and enhance immersive intelligent audio codecs and processing systems, facilitating application updates across short video on demand, live streaming, virtual and mixed reality, and other scenarios.
• Monitor and engage with both domestic and global audio standardization efforts, produce high-quality technical proposals for standards, and drive immersive intelligent audio standards domestically and internationally.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or above in electronic information, computer science, multimedia, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.
• Research background in one or more areas such as 3D spatial audio rendering, GAN or diffusion-based audio processing, voiceprint recognition, wake-up word detection, sound event recognition, automatic speech recognition, or natural language processing.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design/tuning of deep neural network models.
• Proficiency with open-source tools like Kaldi, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Programming expertise in Python and C++.
• Experience with training and experimentation on large-scale datasets is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in relevant areas including electronic information, computer science, multimedia, machine learning, or AI.
• Practical experience in digital signal processing alongside artificial intelligence or deep learning system development.
• Published research in leading international conferences or prestigious journals (e.g., ICASSP, Interspeech, ASRU, ICML, NeurIPS, AAAI) is an asset.
