About Auctions at Showplace

Auctions at Showplace, located in New York, is a premier auction house specializing in fine art, antiques, jewelry, decorative arts, and estate collections. We seek a highly organized and detail-focused Auction Administrative Coordinator to support our auction processes and deliver exceptional service to both clients and bidders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve bidder registrations across various online auction platforms.
  • Respond promptly to bidder inquiries and messages on auction platforms.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing condition reports for potential bidders.
  • Produce and supply post-auction catalogs to Sales and Cataloging teams.
  • Act as the main point of contact for client services, handling phone calls and general email inquiries.
  • Assist clients with telephone, absentee, and in-person registrations for bidding.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of email marketing campaigns and auction site banners.
  • Input and maintain sale data in the AI marketing platform.
  • Monitor and document client concerns and service issues, ensuring timely follow-ups and escalating when necessary to prevent resolution gaps.
  • Provide general administrative support to the auction team before, during, and after each sale.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and management on directives, cross-functional projects, and other administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong organizational abilities with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient at managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
  • Outstanding customer service skills paired with a professional and approachable attitude.
  • Comfort working with databases, spreadsheets, and various online auction platforms.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
  • Previous experience in an auction house, gallery, estate services, or related area is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range between $42,000 and $45,000, dependent on experience.
