Job description

Role Overview

WSP is searching for a seasoned Associate or Associate Director specializing in Roads & Highways to join its Transport & Infrastructure division based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This leadership role is integral to overseeing roads, highways, and infrastructure masterplan projects in the Kingdom, balancing project delivery with client engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee roads and highways projects at various stages from early concepts through detailed design and construction assistance.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams ensuring integration of highways, transport systems, utilities, drainage, and structural infrastructure.
  • Provide expert technical leadership and supervision to project teams focused on efficient, quality delivery.
  • Implement innovative, cost-efficient engineering solutions meeting or exceeding standards.
  • Maintain compliance with client expectations, local regulations, and internationally recognized best practices.
  • Serve as key liaison to clients, stakeholders, government authorities, developers, contractors, and utility firms.
  • Lead or contribute to technical meetings, workshops, design evaluations, and project presentations.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, risk assessments, and reporting to ensure timeline and quality targets are met.
  • Help prepare proposals, bids, and tenders to foster business growth and expansions in the Saudi market.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture supporting continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality management systems, governance, and health, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 15 years' professional experience focused on roads and highways engineering, including design and project execution.
  • Minimum 5 years' recent hands-on experience working within Saudi Arabia.
  • Strong background collaborating with major international engineering consultancies.
  • Proven record delivering large-scale roads, highways, infrastructure, and land development projects throughout all phases from feasibility to construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of Saudi infrastructure market dynamics, client demands, regulatory procedures, and approval processes.
  • Expertise in coordinating multidisciplinary infrastructure projects involving transportation, utilities, drainage, structural engineering, and urban development.
  • Arabic language proficiency is desirable but not mandatory.
