Role Overview
We seek a dedicated Assistant Store Manager for our signature store in Winnipeg, working full-time onsite. The role involves supporting the Store Manager in daily store operations including recruitment, staff training, and development, alongside meeting sales goals personally and as a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing the retail team of 6 sales associates, ensuring high standards of customer service and guiding daily sales activities.
- Provide individualized shopping assistance to customers, manage transactions including sales, returns, exchanges, and gift card sales.
- Track and analyze daily sales performance metrics (KPIs), preparing comprehensive sales reports.
- Manage store operations such as merchandise receipt, stock replenishment, inventory control, email correspondence, staff training coordination, and store cleanliness.
- Lead the introduction of new products and collections, enhancing team knowledge and selling skills through ongoing coaching.
- Handle store opening and closing duties, including POS activation, floor setup, and product displays.
- Support employee scheduling and approve staff work schedules in collaboration with the Store Manager.
- Participate in biannual inventory counts and assist with peak seasonal sales and special events.
Requirements
- Minimum education of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience in retail with responsibilities in supporting store management or a comparable role.
- Strong understanding of sales techniques, retail KPIs, cash handling, and store procedures including opening and closing routines.
- Aptitude for rapid learning and adaptation in a dynamic retail environment.
- Ability to lift and move products up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to work autonomously.
