Assistant Manager - Style

Position Overview

This entry-level managerial role involves supporting daily operations across Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry departments. The role focuses on coordinating cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms and public areas, conducting inspections, and ensuring corrective measures are taken. The Assistant Manager also helps maintain guest and employee satisfaction while managing the department's operating budget.

Key Duties

• Stay updated on OSHA regulations relevant to housekeeping operations.
• Manage lost and found protocols efficiently.
• Prepare daily work assignments based on rooms requiring immediate cleaning and upcoming check-outs or discharges.
• Maintain inventory controls to ensure sufficient housekeeping supplies.
• Communicate guest room status promptly to the Front Desk.
• Coordinate with the Engineering team regarding guest room maintenance needs.
• Adhere to loss prevention policies and procedures.
• Ensure all staff have appropriate supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
• Assist in supervising a thorough inspection program covering guestrooms and public spaces.
• Manage linen and guest supply inventories and assist in ordering when needed.
• Provide supervisory coverage for Housekeeping and related areas in the absence of senior management.
• Observe employee service behavior, providing feedback aimed at elevating service standards.
• Address guest complaints and problems tactfully, involving supervisors when necessary.
• Review guest feedback and satisfaction surveys with team members to improve service quality.
• Exemplify excellent guest relations and set a positive example for staff.

Candidate Profile

• Possess either a high school diploma or GED plus at least one year experience in housekeeping or a relevant professional field, OR
• Hold a two-year degree from an accredited institution in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with no prior work experience required.

Additional Information

Located in Vagator Beach, Bardez, Goa, this full-time role is classified under management with no remote working option.
