About the Role and Team
The Global Statutory Audit group at Grant Thornton Ireland specialises in providing centralised audit solutions for large multinational corporations. The team is highly experienced in managing complex audit challenges for international clients. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Irish and UK statutory audits while managing the coordination of global audits in collaboration with the international Grant Thornton network. You will work closely with senior leadership and support the growth and development of junior staff members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee multiple audit assignments for multinational clients, ensuring compliance and quality.
- Conduct and review intricate audit segments while adhering to the applicable auditing standards.
- Collaborate with global member firms to ensure uniformity and efficiency in audit delivery worldwide.
- Maintain active communication with clients during all phases of the audit, from initiation through to conclusion.
- Mentor and manage junior auditors, providing practical guidance and constructive feedback.
- Prepare and validate technical audit documentation to ensure it meets high standards of clarity and accuracy.
- Spot opportunities for process enhancements and assist with the adoption of best auditing practices.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with both clients and colleagues.
- Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and presentations for potential clients.
Experience and Skills Required
- Fully qualified ACA or ACCA with at least four years of audit experience after qualification.
- Audit exposure involving large-scale Irish companies and international or multinational businesses.
- Experience gained at a top 10 professional services firm.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of IFRS and Irish GAAP; familiarity with US GAAP is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to handle multiple deadlines and prioritize workload efficiently.
- Proficiency using electronic audit software and documentation tools.
- Strong team-oriented attitude with a collaborative approach.
- Commercially savvy with a strong client focus.
