Role Responsibilities
- Support the Housekeeping Manager in supervising the entire housekeeping team, including room attendants, laundry personnel, and cleaning staff. Offer guidance, training, and feedback to ensure smooth and effective department operations.
- Work closely with staff to maintain cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and behind-the-scenes spaces according to established standards. Conduct routine inspections to guarantee quality assurance.
- Help manage inventory and supplies related to housekeeping, such as cleaning agents, linens, and guest amenities. Monitor stock levels and prepare purchase orders proactively to avoid shortages.
- Assist in scheduling staff shifts by considering factors like occupancy rates and special events to ensure appropriate coverage and guest service levels at all times.
- Provide training sessions to housekeeping employees on cleaning methods, safety practices, and customer service protocols to enhance skills and maintain superior service quality.
- Strive for excellent guest satisfaction by addressing housekeeping-related concerns promptly, implementing corrective actions, and sustaining a positive guest experience environment.
- Ensure strict adherence by the staff to health and safety guidelines, including safe handling of cleaning materials and equipment. Promote a safe workplace and report potential hazards or incidents immediately.
- Support budget management by monitoring housekeeping expenses and labor costs, identifying and implementing cost-efficient measures without sacrificing quality.
- Maintain effective communication with other hotel departments such as front office and maintenance to coordinate guest services and handle maintenance requests efficiently.
Candidate Requirements
- Educational background in hospitality management.
- Prior experience in housekeeping or a similar role with proven supervisory capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to cleanliness and a commitment to high standards.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a varied team.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to lead and engage team members effectively.
- Thorough knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and industry best practices.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to housekeeping operations.
- Proficiency in computer applications used for scheduling, inventory tracking, and reporting.
