Asset Protection Associate

Overview

The Asset Protection Associate is crucial in fostering a secure, safe, and professional environment within the store for customers, employees, visitors, and vendors. By adhering to asset protection policies and demonstrating professionalism, this role aims to prevent financial and physical losses, minimize shrinkage, and support the profitability of the store. Through vigilance, observation, and collaboration, this position helps safeguard people, products, and the overall shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily store patrols to maintain a secure environment; ensure proper functioning of doors, showcases, and security tools, taking corrective measures as needed.
• Investigate incidents concerning financial and physical losses, reporting findings to Store Leadership; escalate internal cases to the Market Loss Prevention Manager according to company policies.
• Support or lead investigations involving internal theft, external theft, organized retail crime, and cases assigned via Walmart Canada Global Ethics.
• Assist with emergency responses and store evacuation procedures in situations such as fire or other emergencies.
• Participate in store task teams to aid overall store operations as required.
• Carry out external apprehensions following company policies and legal regulations.
• Collect and relay information from various sources to leadership and relevant stakeholders, presenting clear explanations and different viewpoints.
• Perform other assigned duties that align with evolving business requirements and asset protection objectives.
• Be flexible in working varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure consistent and quality service.

Challenges

• Manage a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced, often overnight environment while maintaining focus and efficiency.
• Handle physically demanding tasks such as extended standing, bending, and lifting up to 20 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive tasks like stocking and organizing with meticulous attention to detail to maintain store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $20.00.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Possession of a valid Security Guard License.
