This permanent, full-time role based in New Plymouth offers the chance to influence asset planning and maintenance for a vital regional transport network supporting growth, industry, tourism, and community connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and confirm maintenance and renewal strategies for state highway assets.
• Interpret and analyze complex pavement and network condition data to inform actionable maintenance programs.
• Carry out inspections and field validations to assess asset condition.
• Maintain high standards of asset data integrity and produce comprehensive reports.
• Spot opportunities to enhance network performance and maintenance efficiency.
• Offer technical guidance on land use and stakeholder engagement matters.

About You

You are an asset management specialist with a blend of technical proficiency and practical decision-making skills, adept at stakeholder collaboration. Your background ideally includes:

• Experience applying asset management systems within transport infrastructure contexts.
• Competency in interpreting technical data sets to design effective maintenance plans.
• Knowledge of pavement engineering and highway surface analytics.
• Hands-on experience in field validation, network inspections, and condition assessments.
• Strong analytical aptitude combined with effective communication capabilities.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications such as Civil Engineering or Asset Management, or comparable practical experience.
