Application Engineer / Senior Application Engineer - Power Reliability

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Application Center team to enhance our regional footprint by delivering technical product support, creating new product specifications, and systemizing product solutions closely aligned with our customers' in-market needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Power Reliability products, particularly focusing on main product categories such as power supplies and surge protection devices.
• Continuously monitor market demands and technological advancements within the power reliability domain.
• Provide prompt and precise technical and application support to regional sales subsidiaries and customers regarding power reliability topics.
• Conduct multi-level product and solution training sessions tailored for diverse audience groups.
• Collaborate closely with regional sales subsidiaries to develop sales and marketing materials, including demonstrations, whitepapers, and short videos.
• Maintain and manage solution and project references to support successful regional projects.
• Design and develop Phoenix Contact product mix solutions and systems with value propositions targeting market and customer requirements and pain points.
• Specify new product variants, coordinate customer-specific laboratory testing, and oversee local product approval processes.
• Carry out in-house product and solution testing with documentation aligning to customer specifications.
• Establish processes and maintain close communication channels with regional sales subsidiaries to understand and accommodate market demands and requirements.
• Travel to customer locations for technical consultation as required.
• Set up efficient communication routines with Business Units and Regional Business Units to gather market feedback and support detailed product development.
• Participate in industry-specific associations and engage in the exchange of trends and developments relevant to the division.
• Work collaboratively within a team to meet individual, team, and departmental goals while sharing knowledge and expertise.
• Approach shifting business priorities with a positive and adaptable mindset.

Requirements

• Diploma or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or closely related fields.
• At least 2 years of experience in electrical, surge protection, or power system sectors.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Proficient in reading and understanding electrical block diagrams and single-line diagrams.
• Familiarity with surge protection standards.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is necessary; knowledge of Japanese is beneficial.
• Competent in Windows software applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Customer-focused with a strong orientation towards achieving results.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Disciplined, diligent, and capable of working effectively under pressure.
• Willingness to travel at short notice for trainings, trade shows, and other events.
