Role Summary

The Application Engineer focusing on DX and VRV systems supports the sales division by providing technically validated, cost-effective HVAC solutions. This role involves analyzing equipment selection, validating system designs, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and supporting throughout project lifecycles. Collaboration with multiple departments such as Sales, Product Management, and Engineering is essential to meet customer needs, regulatory standards, and company engineering policies, driving business growth in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive application engineering assistance across sales processes from inquiry until order finalization.
• Design and size DX, VRV, and AHU equipment employing Daikin’s proprietary selection tools and other approved software.
• Examine project specifications, tender documents, HVAC blueprints, and schedules to engineer compliant and efficient solutions.
• Verify equipment choices to ensure they are technically sound, energy-efficient, and aligned with project and company requirements.
• Generate detailed technical submittals, equipment schedules, and documentation to support proposals.
• Recommend value engineering options and alternative solutions to enhance technical and financial attractiveness.
• Liaise with Product Management, Sales, and Factory Engineering teams to address technical queries and ensure seamless project support.
• Support quotation processes through accurate technical data and costing information.
• Engage in technical discussions with consultants, stakeholders, and clients to clarify design parameters and address application-related issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HVAC industry trends, local regulations, standards, and Daikin products to provide expert application support.
• Facilitate technical handover to execution teams after order confirmation.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or equivalent disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in HVAC Application Engineering, technical support, or system design with emphasis on DX and VRV solutions, ideally in Qatar or the GCC.
• Deep understanding of HVAC design principles, equipment selection, psychrometrics, heat load calculations, and energy-efficient HVAC applications.
• Proficiency with HVAC design and selection software such as VRV-specific tools, AutoCAD, AHU selection software, alongside Microsoft Office.
• Strong capability to interpret MEP drawings, design standards, tender documents, and consultant criteria.
• Demonstrated capability to provide technical support for sales including solution optimization and engineering proposals.
• Skillful at evaluating project needs, identifying technical risks, and offering robust engineering solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills conducive to building relationships with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Highly organized with strong planning and problem-solving skills to manage multiple project deadlines.
• Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are beneficial.
• Familiarity with international HVAC regulations such as ASHRAE and AHRI, as well as local standards including Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), is an asset.
