Role Overview

The Analytics Engineer will be a critical contributor in driving the next phase of growth by designing, building, and managing end-to-end dbt data models used across multiple business functions such as Finance, Product, and Markets. The position involves leadership of priority cross-functional data projects that require problem-solving from foundational principles and has significant business impact. The role reports to the Head of Data and collaborates closely with various teams including Finance, Compliance, Treasury, Product, Data Engineering, and Markets. This is a full-time onsite position with opportunities in London, Dubai, or New York City.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and uphold reliable dbt models, complete with testing, documentation, and schema validation, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Lead and own high-priority cross-departmental data projects from conception to delivery, producing trusted insights.
• Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders from Product, Markets, and Engineering to model business domains accurately.
• Support essential Finance and Compliance reporting processes including month-end close and audits by streamlining data pipelines.
• Maintain data integrity by implementing comprehensive tests, checks, and alert systems to preempt incidents.
• Leverage AI tools and agents throughout the data modeling lifecycle to enhance dbt development speed and data quality.
• Engage actively in the analytics community through peer code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and providing data support organization-wide.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of four years of professional experience in analytics engineering and/or data science roles.
• Proficient in SQL and adept at working with complex and large data sets utilizing dbt.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Experience using contemporary BI tools like Looker or Mode to promote self-service analytics.
• Meticulous attention to detail combined with a practical approach and willingness to tackle tasks of any size.
• Legal authorization to work in one of the following: UK, UAE, or US.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within fast-paced environments such as startups or scale-ups.
• Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R.
• Proven track record managing large-scale or cross-functional data projects.
