Role Summary and Essential Expertise

This role requires comprehensive experience in building agentic AI workflows using technologies such as Python, FastAPI, React, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft Azure OpenAI services in the UAE North region. The position involves developing multi-step orchestrations, tool integrations, and human-in-the-loop controls, particularly interfacing with SAP, Microsoft 365, and external datasets. A robust understanding of ML and AI principles—including model selection, classical machine learning, retrieval techniques, and production monitoring—is necessary. Candidates should have proven track records in engineering AI applications for production environments where they fully own and can explain the end-to-end code lifecycle, even when using AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years working experience in software or AI engineering with recent direct involvement in deploying production-grade AI and LLM applications.
• Proficiency with Python and FastAPI for backend development and API design, demonstrating solid experience creating production-ready services.
• Hands-on development of agentic AI workflows featuring multi-step orchestration, function/tool calling, state handling, and human oversight mechanisms.
• Strong practical knowledge of LLM frameworks such as LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen or comparable tools.
• Experience designing and deploying AI solutions utilizing Azure OpenAI and Azure AI platforms within enterprise environments.
• Expertise in retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques, including embeddings, vector and hybrid search mechanisms, re-ranking, grounding strategies, and corresponding evaluation procedures.
• Deep foundational understanding of ML/AI concepts for effective model evaluation and discerning situations where classical ML methods outperform LLM approaches.
• Proven capability to develop, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot agent and LLM-based production systems featuring operational observability and fault management.
• Advanced skills with SQL and PostgreSQL for handling structured enterprise data, including data model design and query optimization.
• Experience connecting AI applications securely to complex enterprise systems and APIs, managing authentication, user permissions, and data security.
• Practical integration experience specifically with SAP and Microsoft 365 (including Microsoft Graph).
• Complete ownership of development tasks, capable of autonomously architecting, coding, testing, debugging, and rationalizing production software solutions, even those augmented by AI-assisted tools.
