Role Overview

The company relies on integrated platforms including NetSuite, Shopify, SaaS, and on-premises systems linked with external partners. As scaling progresses, the aim is to internalize integration capabilities by employing an engineer who can utilize AI coding agents to develop systems instead of traditional coding methods. This position is foundational to a new function, offering the opportunity to design and build a team around this innovative approach.

Responsibilities

• Architect and oversee the integration layer connecting NetSuite, Shopify, and other systems, covering orders, inventory, fulfillment, customer data, and financials.
• Create new integrations and transition existing external integrations into the in-house environment.
• Ensure engineering basics such as source control, continuous integration/deployment, testing, error handling, and observability are embedded from the outset.
• Collaborate closely with operations and finance teams to understand business processes, define challenges, set expectations, and deliver reliable solutions.
• Empower non-developer staff to automate tasks securely by providing standards, guardrails, and review mechanisms.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum five years’ experience developing and maintaining production systems, including being on-call for deployed software with lessons learned from real issues.
• Proficient with AI coding agents and a deep understanding of their limitations.
• Strong expertise in working with APIs and data flows, including REST/GraphQL, webhooks, queues, idempotency, and reconciliation techniques.
• Skillful in Python, TypeScript, or similar languages sufficient to critically assess and adjust generated code.
• Experienced in managing deployment pipelines, CI/CD workflows, automated testing, and ensuring consistent, repeatable environments.
• Capable of translating business requirements from non-technical colleagues into robust, dependable systems.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or Shopify is advantageous but not mandatory if proven ability to rapidly learn new platforms exists.

Work Environment and Reporting

This role is located in Singapore and reports directly to the Group COO, ensuring close alignment with business operations rather than an isolated IT department.

This position is not focused on vendor management or handling support tickets. It centers on owning solution architecture and delivery outcomes with decision-making autonomy.
