Adobe Commerce Architect

About the Role

This position involves leading the architecture and implementation of sophisticated Adobe Commerce solutions to help clients realize ambitious digital transformation goals through scalable, secure, and efficient platforms. The role requires defining comprehensive architecture for B2B, B2C, headless, or composable commerce, shaping strategic platform directions, and establishing standards to guide delivery within extensive programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and delivery of complex Adobe Commerce solutions reflecting client business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, enterprise architects, and engineering teams to convert business requirements into effective technical decisions.
• Design integration frameworks connecting Salesforce, ERP, CRM, PIM, payment systems, and marketing platforms.
• Advise on Adobe App Builder, API Mesh, Adobe I/O Runtime, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native architectural patterns.
• Govern architecture processes, mentor architects and technical leads, and help elevate standards and best practices across the digital commerce practice.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven expertise in enterprise eCommerce, solution architecture, and digital transformation with extensive experience in large-scale Adobe Commerce environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe App Builder, Adobe I/O Runtime, API Mesh, Adobe I/O Events, Developer Console, and CLI tools.
• Strong command of composable commerce, headless commerce, cloud-native architectures, serverless computing, microservices, API-first design, and event-driven systems.
• Experience designing integration solutions for ERP, CRM, OMS, PIM, payment gateways, tax engines, and marketing platforms using REST APIs, GraphQL, Adobe IMS, OAuth, and JWT.
• Deep understanding of Adobe Commerce stack including PHP, MySQL, Varnish, Redis, and performance optimization of core platforms.
• Competence in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, release governance, containerisation, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Expert knowledge of enterprise security, scalability, high availability, compliance, reliability, and operational readiness.
• Demonstrated success in architecture governance, producing detailed design documents, and conducting architecture reviews.
• Confident engagement with senior business and IT stakeholders to influence architecture decisions and manage risks across complex initiatives.
• Collaborative leadership style with experience mentoring architects and technical leads and establishing engineering best practices.
• Adobe Commerce Architect or Expert certification is highly desirable.
• Additional experience with Adobe Experience Cloud, React Spectrum, Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code, or MACH architecture is advantageous.
