Adjunct Instructor - Interior Design Department

Overview

The Interior Design Department at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar) seeks applications for a pool of qualified adjunct faculty for the Fall 2026 term. Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Interior Design or related disciplines such as Architecture, or a Bachelor of Fine Arts supplemented with substantial professional training and/or experience.
• Relevant teaching experience or strong proficiency in oral presentation and communication.
• Proven ability or strong commitment to foster a respectful, professional, and civil atmosphere among a diverse mix of faculty, staff, and students.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills, especially suited for studio-based teaching formats.
• Legal eligibility to work in Qatar, meeting the local immigration and employment criteria.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching studio courses within Qatar or the broader Middle East region.
• Professional background in interior design practice, including studio management and business operations, combined with teaching experience.
• Interest or experience in multicultural and multilingual academic contexts, particularly relevant to Qatar’s Education City.
