Job description
Overview
The Interior Design Department at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar) seeks applications for a pool of qualified adjunct faculty for the Fall 2026 term. We encourage candidates who are passionate educators interested in contributing to a vibrant and internationally active academic community to apply. Adjunct instructors may teach undergraduate courses across various areas within the Interior Design program based on departmental demand. This candidate pool will be reviewed as positions become available, and those whose qualifications match current needs will be invited to interview.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Interior Design or related disciplines such as Architecture, or a Bachelor of Fine Arts supplemented with substantial professional training and/or experience.
- Relevant teaching experience or strong proficiency in oral presentation and communication.
- Proven ability or strong commitment to foster a respectful, professional, and civil atmosphere among a diverse mix of faculty, staff, and students.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills, especially suited for studio-based teaching formats.
- Legal eligibility to work in Qatar, meeting the local immigration and employment criteria.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching studio courses within Qatar or the broader Middle East region.
- Professional background in interior design practice, including studio management and business operations, combined with teaching experience.
- Interest or experience in multicultural and multilingual academic contexts, particularly relevant to Qatar’s Education City.
