Accountant

About the Role

ERP Hub Africa is seeking a skilled Accountant to join their team and contribute to a client-focused engagement involving comprehensive accounting tasks, Odoo Accounting system utilization, and financial data refinement.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting activities utilizing the Odoo platform
• Review and rectify existing accounting data records
• Conduct reconciliations of bank statements, customer accounts, and supplier accounts
• Manage receivables and payables efficiently
• Process invoices, bills, receipts, and payments accurately
• Identify and correct discrepancies within accounting entries
• Assist with VAT and withholding tax compliance requirements
• Handle inventory accounting and related reconciliations
• Prepare monthly management financial statements and reports
• Support closing activities at month-end and year-end
• Maintain thorough documentation and internal controls for accounting processes
• Collaborate with the ERP implementation team to enhance accounting workflows using Odoo

Candidate Profile

• Holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
• Possesses between 2 to 4 years of accounting experience
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Odoo Accounting software
• Proficient in bookkeeping and reconciliation tasks
• Good knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in cleaning and managing backlogs of accounting records is beneficial
• Analytical mindset, detail-oriented, and highly organized
• Ability to work autonomously and manage assigned responsibilities
• Strong understanding of the flow of accounting transactions within ERP systems

This is a full-time, on-site position requiring immediate engagement on an active client project.
