Job description
Overview
We are seeking an Account Manager located in Düsseldorf or Stuttgart, supporting the DACH region and Europe for an established software company. The role requires understanding retail trade and complex IT solutions to cultivate long-term customer relationships. The target clients are large retail companies with sophisticated, multi-location structures, involving lengthy sales cycles. The ideal candidate is not a traditional hunter but someone with sales affinity, patience, and strong interpersonal and organizational insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish new customer relationships within Germany and selected European markets.
- Manage accounts through extended decision-making and sales processes.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and collaborate with internal teams to create tailored proposals.
- Oversee the process from initial contact, tenders, to contract conclusion.
- Engage with various stakeholders including business units, IT leaders, and decision makers at multiple levels.
- Collaborate closely with sales leadership, product development, marketing, and partner management teams.
- Maintain pipeline, forecasting, and account strategies using CRM systems.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of five years’ experience in account management or advisory B2B sales.
- Strong knowledge of retail trade processes, structures, and specificities.
- Experience with IT or software solutions.
- Technical background or extensive experience in IT sales/account management.
- Proven track record in developing and nurturing long-term client relationships.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Willingness to travel within Europe.
