Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled 3D Printing Engineer to join our team in Pune, Maharashtra. This role involves developing 3D models utilizing CAD software, managing the setup and operation of various 3D printers, and ensuring quality in all stages of additive manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in 3D printing processes and a detail-oriented approach to product development and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and prototypes using Fusion 360 CAD software.
- Transform existing designs into 3D printable files in formats such as STL.
- Configure, calibrate, and run different types of 3D printers including FDM and SLA.
- Select suitable printing materials, including plastics, metals, and composites, tailored to project needs.
- Observe and supervise printing procedures, promptly addressing issues to ensure successful outcomes.
- Perform post-processing tasks: removing supports, sanding surfaces, applying finishes, and assembling components as required.
- Conduct inspections for dimensional accuracy, detect defects, and carry out stress testing or simulations to assess durability and functionality.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to understand project specifications and contribute technical 3D printing insights.
- Assist in preparing technical documents such as setup guides, user manuals, and best practice protocols.
- Maintain and troubleshoot 3D printing equipment to keep machinery operating optimally, including hardware repairs and software issue resolution.
Experience and Skills
- Proven familiarity with 3D printing technology, CAD modeling, and additive manufacturing workflows.
- Strong competence in Fusion 360 or similar CAD design software.
- Understanding of printing technologies such as FDM and SLA and experience with machine calibration.
- Problem-solving skills alongside a meticulous and quality-focused approach.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Preferred: experience with slicing software such as Cura or Simplify3D.
- Preferred: background in rapid prototyping or production-based additive manufacturing.
Working Conditions
- Work predominantly in a workshop, laboratory, or manufacturing environment.
- Role may require standing, bending, and manual handling of materials.
- Possible exposure to manufacturing substances such as chemicals and resins.
