About the Internship
This internship offers an opportunity to enhance your skills in WordPress development through hands-on experience while working remotely. You will collaborate closely with our development team to create and customize WordPress themes and plugins, troubleshoot and debug to optimize website performance, and stay updated with the latest web development technologies and trends. Additionally, you will help maintain and update existing WordPress sites ensuring security and efficiency, participate actively in team discussions to contribute ideas, and assist in testing websites for cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside developers to design and implement custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Troubleshoot and debug WordPress site issues to improve performance and user experience.
- Keep abreast of emerging web development technologies and trends to enhance projects.
- Maintain and update current WordPress websites adhering to security and performance best practices.
- Engage in team meetings to share insight and propose solutions.
- Contribute to testing and optimizing websites across different browsers and devices.
- Continuously develop technical skills through practical work and mentorship from experienced professionals.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in WordPress development, including theme and plugin creation.
- Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Understanding of responsive design techniques.
- Basic knowledge of web standards and accessibility guidelines.
- Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate educational program.
- Passion for web development and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Experience with other content management systems is advantageous.
- Preferred submission of portfolio demonstrating WordPress projects or academic work.
