Internship Overview
RotorDyn, a US-based machinery diagnostics firm servicing industries such as power plants, oil & gas, and heavy equipment, leverages expert knowledge in rotor dynamics to develop an AI-powered diagnostic platform. This software analyzes vibration data from large rotating machines, providing diagnostics for issues like unbalance, misalignment, and rubbing through data uploaded in CSV format.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous testing of the diagnostic application with diverse data inputs, including valid, invalid, atypical, large, and empty CSV files to uncover potential failures.
- Evaluate if the diagnostic results generated are logical and consistent over time.
- Meticulously document all findings to assist developers in reproducing and resolving bugs.
- Utilize Python scripting to create test data and automate routine workflows.
- Offer constructive feedback on the user experience, highlighting any confusing or inefficient aspects beyond standard bug reports.
Candidate Requirements
- Proficiency in Python, especially with libraries like pandas and NumPy, combined with academic or project experience in AI/ML.
- Ability to analyze and manipulate CSV and time-series datasets with precision.
- Strong attention to detail paired with clear and effective written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills suited for remote work environment.
Eligibility Criteria
- Availability to work remotely with the company’s schedule, aligning with 9:30 am to 7:30 pm Indian Standard Time (equivalent to 12:00 am to 10:00 am Eastern Standard Time).
- Can commence the internship between August 22, 2026, and September 26, 2026.
- Available for the full 3-month duration.
- Possess relevant skills and genuine interest in the role.
Compensation and Schedule
- Stipend ranging from 20,000 to 25,000 INR per month.
- Flexible working hours with a 5-day workweek.
