Job description
Overview
Altera's Quartus Device Modeling team is seeking skilled software developers interested in working at the intersection of software and hardware. The focus is on designing model abstractions for Altera FPGAs to enable efficient implementation and commercialization of customer designs.
Key Responsibilities
Team members engage in complex tasks such as developing data abstraction models, timing models for ASICs and FPGAs, advanced software algorithms, optimizing runtime and memory usage, and conducting statistical analysis workflows. The team also actively explores integrating AI and machine learning techniques into their development processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Practical experience programming in C++ and Python
- Familiarity with hardware description languages such as Verilog and scripting languages like TCL is advantageous

The position is a regular full-time role based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with work schedule aligned to Shift 1 (Canada). Salary range is estimated between CAD 100,000 and 115,000 annually, reflecting market conditions and candidate qualifications.
