Job Overview
Emerson is seeking a seasoned Specifications Analyst with expertise in pressure relief valves and specialized process requirements. The role demands ensuring customer and project specifications are thoroughly understood, clearly communicated, and correctly implemented throughout the duration of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer and project specifications related to special processes, identifying relevant requirements, potential risks, and areas needing clarification.
- Suggest practical alternatives or exceptions ensuring they comply with industry codes and satisfy customer expectations.
- Integrate project requirements from purchase orders and harmonize differences across quotations, technical qualifications, contracts, and agreements.
- Work closely with quotation and project teams to produce precise sales order documentation reflecting customer and project demands.
- Provide technical support during discussions, correspondence, and meetings with customers, vendors, and manufacturing teams regarding special processes.
- Prepare project-specific addenda to manufacturing procedures covering material testing, heat treatment, welding, painting, non-destructive examination (NDE), and other special processes.
- Review feedback on procedures from customers and coordinate necessary clarifications to facilitate prompt document approvals.
- Create new procedures or specifications if existing documentation falls short of project needs.
- Contribute technical knowledge to assist project management and promote operational excellence.
- Champion a workplace culture focused on safety, quality, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

You must be adept at making informed decisions under uncertainty by analyzing complex data and balancing various factors to achieve optimal results.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Experience with special processes in oil and gas, energy, industrial, or associated sectors.
- Familiarity with welding, coating, heat treatment, casting, material testing, NDE, or related special processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME BPVC) sections II, V, VIII, and IX.
- Understanding and application of NORSOK M-501 standard requirements within project contexts.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex technical specifications, standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving aptitudes.
- Capability to juggle multiple priorities and work effectively amidst ambiguous conditions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills suited for multicultural teamwork.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, specifically Word and Excel.
- Dedication to teamwork, customer focus, quality, and ongoing learning.
Preferred Attributes
- Knowledge of IOGP standards S-563, S-705, and S-715.
- Experience in pressure relief valve projects, valve manufacturing, pressure equipment, or engineered-to-order initiatives.
- Proven ability to coordinate technical requirements across customers, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities.
- Experience creating or enhancing technical procedures, specifications, and process documentation.
- History of contributing to operational improvements and excellence programs.
