Role Purpose
The Firefighter at Adani Airports is responsible for managing aircraft and structural fire emergencies, medical crises, hazardous material events, and other emergencies within airport grounds. The role aims to safeguard passengers, crew, and staff by performing firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical tasks.
Core Responsibilities
- Rapidly respond to emergencies including aircraft, structural fires, medical, and hazardous material incidents on airport premises.
- Execute firefighting techniques using water, foam, dry chemicals, and other agents to suppress fires.
- Conduct search and rescue missions in smoke-filled or hazardous conditions.
- Administer first aid and basic life support until advanced medical teams arrive, assisting patient transfer when necessary.
- Ensure operational readiness through regular inspections and maintenance of firefighting vehicles, equipment, and personal protective gear.
- Maintain firefighting inventory and readiness, participating in drills, simulations, and ICAO-mandated training exercises.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive incident, training, and shift documentation for compliance audits.
- Comply with all applicable firefighting and emergency response regulations and execute all duties per Standard Operating Procedures.
- Identify hazards during patrols and promptly correct them.
- Collaborate closely with internal airport teams (operations, medical, security, engineering, HSE) and external agencies such as local fire departments, airlines, ground handlers, and civil aviation authorities during incidents and drills.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or equivalent certification in Fire Fighting Technology from an accredited academy.
- 2 to 3 years of firefighting experience, ideally with background in Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) operations.
Stakeholder Interaction
The role requires coordination with internal stakeholders including duty managers, ARFF crew, security, emergency services, maintenance, and HSE teams, as well as external bodies like local fire services, airlines, ground handling companies, equipment suppliers, insurers, community leaders, and civil aviation authorities.
