Job Purpose
The Fire Fighter will be tasked with promptly responding to aircraft emergencies, structural fires, medical incidents, hazardous material situations, and other critical emergencies occurring at the airport. Ensuring the safety of passengers, crew, and staff by conducting firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical service operations forms an integral part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- React swiftly to a range of emergencies including aircraft accidents, fires, medical crises, and hazardous materials incidents within the airport premises.
- Conduct firefighting and rescue missions using multiple suppression methods such as water, foam, dry chemical agents, and other firefighting materials.
- Perform search and rescue activities in smoke-filled or dangerous environments.
- Administer first aid and basic life support until higher medical care arrives and assist in patient transit to healthcare facilities when necessary.
- Carry out daily checks and upkeep of firefighting vehicles, extinguishers, PPE, and maintain inventory to ensure operational readiness.
- Engage actively in emergency drills, ICAO-mandated training programs, and simulations to remain prepared.
- Document incidents, training participation, and shift activities thoroughly to support regulatory compliance audits.
- Abide by all firefighting and emergency response regulations at local, state, and federal levels along with adhering to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Identify and mitigate hazards discovered during patrols immediately.
- Work collaboratively with various airport and external agencies including Duty Manager, Airport Operations, Security, Medical Services, Local Fire Departments, Airlines, and Civil Aviation Authorities to coordinate emergency responses effectively.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Fire Fighting Technology or a related equivalent certification.
- Certification from a recognized firefighting academy.
- Possess 2 to 3 years of firefighting experience, ideally with exposure to aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) operations.
