About the Role
Vrinda Global is seeking an experienced Lead Design Engineer specializing in electrical systems for HV/EHV substations, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The position requires leadership in either Primary or Secondary electrical design for such substation projects, typically 132kV and above.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design activities for primary or secondary electrical systems in HV/EHV substations.
- Create and critically assess single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, schematics, and related engineering drawings.
- Oversee primary electrical engineering aspects including AIS/GIS substations, transformers, switchgear, current and voltage transformers, isolators, circuit breakers, busbars, and grounding systems.
- Manage secondary electrical engineering tasks focused on protection, control systems, metering, interlocking, AC/DC circuits, relay and control panels, along with SCADA interface design.
- Review and authorize technical specifications, engineering calculations, equipment datasheets, and final design deliverables to ensure quality and compliance.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 to 15 years of electrical engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise in substation design.
- Proficient in either primary or secondary design roles within electrical substations.
- Specific experience with HV/EHV substations, especially 132kV and above, is mandatory.
- Comprehensive knowledge of AIS (Air-Insulated Switchgear) and GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) substation designs.
