Junior Software Engineer

About the Role

Zof AI is looking for motivated Junior Software Engineers to join its Accra-based team. This full-time position is ideal for candidates early in their careers who are eager to contribute to and grow with pioneering AI-focused software products in a dynamic and demanding environment. The ideal hire should demonstrate strong curiosity, discipline, and rapid learning abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop product features.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance learning speed and development efficiency.
• Engage in frontend, backend, testing, and internal tooling tasks.
• Contribute to code reviews and participate actively in technical team discussions.
• Adopt fast feedback loops and disciplined approaches to improve skills.
• Maintain clear and thorough documentation of work performed.
• Take ownership of assigned projects delivering consistent results.

Candidate Requirements

• Solid understanding of programming fundamentals.
• Demonstrable experience through projects, internships, open-source contributions, or self-learning initiatives.
• Exceptional speed in absorbing new knowledge.
• Keen interest in AI and software product development.
• Enthusiasm to actively utilize AI-driven development tools.
• Strong communication skills coupled with self-discipline and dependability.
• Capability to thrive in a high-performance workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with technologies such as TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, Prisma, and Postgres.
• Experience with AI coding assistants like Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or equivalents.
• Availability of a portfolio or GitHub showcasing projects.
• Interest in areas like AI agents, automated testing, quality assurance, or developer tooling.

Compensation and Benefits

• A monthly salary ranging from GHS 6,500 to 13,000.
