Product Data Scientist

Overview

Zof AI is recruiting a full-time Product Data Scientist based in Accra, Ghana, to support the advancement of innovative AI products within a dynamic, results-oriented setting. This role emphasizes rigorous evaluation of agent fleet performance in defect detection and resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain metrics that track the effectiveness of agent fleets in discovering and remedially addressing defects.
• Assess detection metrics including precision and recall against authentic customer codebases.
• Analyze remediation effectiveness and validate the reliability of results.
• Devise experiments to determine the true impact of product or model alterations.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure consistent scoring in agent runs over time.
• Create reproducible analysis workflows using Python and SQL for team use.
• Communicate insights clearly to engineering, product teams, and leadership to inform decisions.
• Lead ongoing product performance reporting grounded in empirical evidence.

Required Qualifications

• Proficient in Python programming and SQL querying languages.
• Strong foundation in statistics, experiment design principles, and inferential analysis.
• Experience working with complex, unstructured data and deriving substantiated conclusions.
• Ability to convert vague inquiries into quantifiable and actionable metrics.
• Comfortable addressing causal relationships, biases, and potential confounders in data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Adaptability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven record of analytical work influencing strategic decisions.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Background in assessing the performance of machine learning and AI systems.
• Familiarity with causal inference techniques or Bayesian statistical methods.
• Experience with data warehouses, dbt, or transitioning notebooks into production workflows.
• Knowledge of software testing, continuous integration pipelines, or metrics relevant to developer tooling.

Compensation and Benefits

• Monthly salary ranging from 7,000 to 14,000 Ghanaian Cedi, including meaningful equity opportunities.
