Job description
Position Overview
We are looking to recruit a diligent and detail-focused Chartered Accountant for a full-time role based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, UAE. This position entails managing various financial functions including accounting operations, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, taxation, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering precise financial information and strategic recommendations to enhance the company's financial health and assist in decision-making at the management level.
Key Duties
- Compile and examine financial statements, management accounts, and reports.
- Supervise accounting functions such as general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and month-end closures.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records in line with accounting standards.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections, alongside conducting in-depth financial analysis.
- Track financial performance metrics including profitability and key indicators.
- Oversee tax planning, compliance, filing processes, and liaise with external tax consultants as needed.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, laws, standards, and internal company regulations.
- Coordinate both internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation.
- Evaluate internal accounting processes and controls to mitigate risks and identify improvement areas.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis to guide management's business planning and decisions.
- Contribute to cost control, working capital management, cash flow improvements, and overall financial efficiency.
- Prepare financial models, business cases, and investment analyses as required.
- Keep accounting policies and internal financial controls updated and effective.
- Collaborate with various departments including Finance, Operations, Sales, Procurement, HR, and senior leadership on financial issues.
- Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain the confidentiality and accuracy of financial documentation.
- Support enhancements to financial systems, including ERP implementations and automation projects.
Requirements
- Certified Chartered Accountant with relevant professional experience.
- Proven track record in accounting, taxation, financial reporting, auditing, or corporate finance.
- Strong expertise in accounting standards, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Good grasp of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial data analysis.
- Experience in audit facilitation, internal controls, and regulatory compliance matters.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- High attention to detail and precision in financial tasks.
- Outstanding communication, organizational skills, and stakeholder management.
- Familiarity with ERP and accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Xero, or QuickBooks is beneficial.
- Proficient in advanced Excel and ideally experience with financial reporting or business intelligence tools.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially and professionally.
- Self-driven with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related disciplines preferred.
- Membership in a recognized professional accounting organization is mandatory.
