Job description

Overview

We are looking to onboard a Governance & Value Realization Consultant who will play a critical role in strengthening governance frameworks and enhancing organizational performance. This role requires collaboration with senior leadership and key stakeholders to ensure that strategic and transformation initiatives are properly governed and aligned with overall company goals.

Key Duties

  • Design and enforce governance frameworks consistent with corporate strategies, policies, and regulations.
  • Set up governance structures, decision-making protocols, accountability controls, and performance benchmarks.
  • Assist senior leadership in overseeing strategic projects, transformational programs, and investment portfolios.
  • Define and track key performance indicators, benefit goals, and value realization metrics.
  • Assess whether strategic initiatives fulfill expected financial, operational, and organizational outcomes.
  • Uncover performance shortfalls, risks, interdependencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Create frameworks for tracking benefits and dashboards for strategic performance monitoring.
  • Conduct business and operational analyses to identify efficiencies, cost savings, revenue growth, and value generation opportunities.
  • Support governance of portfolios, programs, and projects to guarantee effective delivery and accountability.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, governance audits, performance summaries, and actionable advice.
  • Facilitate governance sessions including steering committees, executive reviews, and strategic planning meetings.
  • Liaise with Finance, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Business units to monitor benefits and results.
  • Oversee organizational risk management, control systems, policy adherence, and compliance obligations.
  • Empower senior management decision-making through data insights and well-structured recommendations.
  • Develop and keep up governance policies, documentation, frameworks, and related procedures.
  • Track progress on corrective measures and continual improvement efforts.
  • Foster a culture emphasizing accountability, transparency, ongoing enhancement, and measurable value contribution.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in governance, transformation management, consulting, strategy, or value management fields.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate governance, performance measurement, risk oversight, and organizational strategies.
  • Preferred experience includes value realization, benefits management, strategic initiatives, or transformation programs.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with strategic thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Proficiency in creating governance structures, performance metrics, and models for realizing value.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience collaborating with senior executives, steering committees, or cross-functional management teams.
  • Solid grasp of financial and operational performance assessments.
  • Project, program, or portfolio management experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of risk, compliance, internal controls, and regulatory frameworks preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with BI and reporting tools is beneficial.
  • Able to juggle several strategic priorities in complex environments.
  • Academic background preferably includes a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Economics, Strategy, Risk Management, or similar disciplines.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, or equivalent in governance and risk appreciated.
  • MBA or advanced qualifications in business strategy, governance, or management are a plus.
