Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our High Security team based in Hamilton. This position involves contributing to the design, development, and continuous improvement of our internationally used high security software products. You will work collaboratively within a cross-functional squad delivering high-quality solutions spanning front-end, back-end, and embedded system development. Key duties include participating in technical design, resolving complex technical challenges with guidance from senior engineers, and enhancing the robustness, scalability, and security of our products.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have over three years of professional experience in product software development, demonstrating a passion for producing high-quality software and solving complex problems. A collaborative approach, strong problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm for ongoing learning and development are essential.
Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in C++, C# with .Net Core, and SQL application development
- Experience with automated and unit testing methodologies
- A tertiary degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Familiarity with Agile software development processes
- Understanding of cryptographic fundamentals, including asymmetric/symmetric cryptography, secure hashing, and the distinctions between encryption and authentication
- Willingness and ability to work with other programming languages such as Ruby and JavaScript
Security Clearance Requirement
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance of at least Confidential level. Eligibility to receive this clearance requires New Zealand permanent residency and continuous residence in New Zealand or one of the Five Eyes countries (NZ, USA, UK, Canada, Australia) for the preceding five years.
