Role Overview

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Controller to manage credit control and accounts receivable for a portfolio of Gallagher’s entities. This role involves hands-on management of customer accounts and collections, resolving queries, and minimising credit risk while fostering strong professional relationships with both customers and internal teams.

You will collaborate extensively with both New Zealand and offshore Finance teams, Sales Order Management, and Customer Service departments, thus gaining broad business exposure. This position also offers the chance to enhance and streamline processes, driving operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of credit control, collections, and debtor management for assigned accounts
  • Handle customer receipts, reconcile accounts, and address account inquiries
  • Track overdue accounts, monitor credit limits, and manage overall debt exposure
  • Generate debtor reports, forecast cash flows, and provide insights to support business decisions
  • Evaluate new customer credit applications and contribute to credit risk management
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to resolve disputes or issues promptly
  • Assist with Visa reconciliations, journal entries, and other finance activities as needed
  • Identify and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes to boost efficiency

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or a related function
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and collections procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, with SAP experience preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Professional and confident communication abilities
  • Capability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and resolve problems effectively
  • Positive attitude with a collaborative spirit and a keen interest in process improvements

Additional Information

This is a full-time on-site position based in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand. The accountabilities involve liaison across multiple departments locally and offshore, requiring excellent coordination and relationship management skills.
