Android Developer

About the Role

We invite an experienced Android Developer to become a key part of our team based in Doha, Qatar, working predominantly onsite with some flexibility for hybrid arrangements. Our team operates within an agile framework that promotes collaboration, timely delivery, and empowered interdisciplinary groups. We develop innovative software solutions for various banking sectors aimed at rapid market deployment and strong customer focus. This position offers a challenging and fast-paced environment fostering innovation at the nexus of business strategy and technology on a global scale.

Responsibilities

• Create native Android mobile banking applications.
• Maintain and improve existing applications by addressing bugs, refactoring code, and creating unit tests.
• Develop new features aligning with defined functional and performance goals.
• Engage in technical dialogues and contribute valuable insights.
• Work collaboratively to enhance code quality and consistency.
• Integrate external data sources and APIs for broadened functionality.
• Investigate and apply new technologies for optimized development processes.
• Ensure adherence to software quality standards through comprehensive code reviews.
• Collaborate effectively with UX designers, architects, backend developers, and quality assurance teams for exemplary project outcomes.
• Develop and automate continuous testing to ensure feature reliability.

Requirements

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• Minimum of three years experience in native Android development using Java and Kotlin.
• Deep understanding of designing applications that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Practical knowledge of design principles and compliance with Google's Android user interface guidelines.
• Experience managing version control with systems like Git.
• Familiarity with test-driven development and continuous integration/delivery frameworks.
• Creativity in designing user-centric and intuitive applications.
• Strong proficiency in English in both written and spoken forms.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for complex engineering challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Skills in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5.
• Experience in server-side application development.
• Knowledge of mobile application architectural patterns.
• Exposure to Agile development practices.
